About :

Fun in the sun as I make a quick trip out to photography a beautiful old bridge near the Welsh Village of Penmachno followed by a couple of images in the Clocaenog forest.

I was worried that the overly bright conditions might hamper me but by adapting my film choice and more importantly thinking carefully about the subject matter I manage to get shots that I am proud of. I eventually used a combination of colour negative and infrared films in my medium format Bronica SQAi to record the scenes in the way I envisaged them.

"I've probably lost half the viewers already" :D :D :D
In the time of film, IR film was almost impossible to get in my country, filters too, so I kinda lost interest in shooting it.

By the way, maybe you could answer me this: Do Bronica 6x6 and Bronica 6x4,5 share the same mount?

My friend shoots with a bronica and he calls his longer lenses "long bron silver" also, that reflections shot is amazing.

Hi Steve, Lovely Video ICM and IR shots. I have been searching for that bridge for ages, now I know roughly where it is I must try a shot or two there, with you and Robin if you like.

Another great video again Steve, I definitely liked your reflection photo. Great youtube channel and have watched them a few times now at Lunchtime at work to take me out into the countryside, wishing I was there... :o)

Steve, as ever your infrared shots are spectacular. Love both locations shoots. Stand out shot for me is the leaves reflections. You nailed that shot! Not your normal style, but definitely a strong strong image and one for the portfolio. Let’s see a print of that one and the infrared shot of the bridge from the road. 👌

Hi Steve, great work, I love the pace of your videos and your approach to photography. And no lost view here be doing infrared, exactly the opposite. It is very inspiring to see your experimentations. Take care.

The bridge area was a magical place. I liked the pack horse bridge shot from the road a great deal. I struggle with bright contrasty conditions like that.

The number of times I've travelled that bit of the A5 and never realised what I was passing...
I've always tended to regard IR photography as an interesting novelty - if you're that way inclined - but that shot of the bridges has an aetherial quality that really appeals. Peaseblossom and Mustard can't be far away!
I also enjoyed the reflected leaves. Can't imagine where all that colour came from...

Fantastic video again Steve.
This is a location I've been looking at visiting for a little while now. I've got a bit of a fascination with old stone bridges. Especially ones like this one that look like they've been forgotten by time.
Excellent work Steve, keep it up!

Thank you for another amazing video Steve! I am curious as you only take a few frames in most of your videos, do you keep the film in the holders and develop the rolls when you finish them? or do you take more frames as you are walking around as to fill up the roll so you can develop for the video? Thanks again for the consistently great content!

Hello again. Fantastic nice pictures again Steve. And what a beautiful music choice for the movie. I plan to photograph black and white for the weekend with my mamyia 330. Hope for some fog in the woods and some sun rays penetrating the fog. Best Regards Lars-Göran.

Fabulous opening sequence Steve, right up there with your canal in the mist sequence from a while ago. Each time I go to NW I make a note to visit this place - then get distracted by mountains n lakes... arrgh - must do it next time. Lovely set of images and I can see what you mean about the FG reference. TFS
