Really nice explanation! But Why do you have 2 layers? 1 for glow one for overexpose, while they will actually be the same as like you said they are linked and the camera raw will adjust both?

Why didn't you say you were using Lr at the start

Thanks for the great and fun video. I appreciate your teaching ability. One question on another note, how do you process your videos to make them so sharp on youtube? I have been trying to figure this out for some time and am making no progress. Any tips or hints?

Matt is a master. His teaching style is easy to follow and understand; makes it easy.

Matt, the entire video is so comprehensive and terrific, but the technique that starts at around 15:25 is the one I'm using from now on ... I applied it to a landscape yesterday and am very happy with the results. I upped the Gaussian a little higher than recommended in the video to get the effect I wanted. Thanks again for this - and all the videos you create. It's obvious the amount of effort that goes into them.

Thank you very much, Matt. Another master class from you. My level is coming from dummy to intermediate, but I could understand everything. It means that your teaching skills are excellent. Your English is so good that a person like me, that English is not his native language, could understand thoroughly your "Soft Glow Look" Master Class. Congratulations!

Great How to video, thanks. One question, how do you bring up camera raw by double clicking on the smart object? When I do this I get a copy of the picture in a new tab in photo shop. I am using the most current version of PS CC. Thanks for any help.

thanks Matt, very didactic. Really liked your video and your lack of narcissism and excess I see in many others

Thanks Matt for this tutorial. I used to do Orton effect only in luminar, but now thanks to you I got a good Idea of the basics of this effect and how flexible it could be. Many thanks👍👍👍

Matt, very informative video. However, you didn't say what you do with the photos in Photoshop: do you combine the two photos into one photo? Not sure if there is a next step there. You left me confused. If you can, please explain. Thanks.

I almost quit watching in the middle. I was thinking that I don't need this with my Luminar plugin. It has the Orton Effect filter built in. I am so glad I didn't quit. The 3rd way with smart objects is the bomb.! 💣

"We don't want blurry photos...." - although Michael Orton does also do a lot of deliberate camera movement, to the extent that in some cases it's difficult to see what was photographed (but I know waht you mean in this context). His video compilations (with music he composes himself) are beautifully serene.

Well presented progression from simple to complex techniques. We need a PS “glowy” filter.😁
