I broke several teeth in an accident in 2014. Thankfully the ACA saved me from most of the costs, but I'm still paying off the remainder.

True. In America, freedom is for sale, and only the rich can afford it.

It would bankrupt us. Because they also want it to cover people who are not citizens.

Which countries cover non citizens?

BobusMaximus . 2019-12-09 10:31:56
You're looking at around 3% of the US are non citizens. You think 3% would cause bankruptcy?

The UK is supposed to charge non citizens for emergency but generally doesn't because it's cost is hardly noticeable to the NHS

Maybe a couple of hundred in car parking fees.

Bulldust it'd bankrupt us. High income earners, who earn about $10 million annually, could be taxed sufficiently.

Damn, where tf are you parking your car? On top of a cop car?

Of course. That which costs less everywhere else in the world would bankrupt the US if implemented. Sure.

How freeing. It's nice to feel free without all the implications that seem to come with it in the US. Free with fine print.

To put it into perspective, I'm on a good wage so pay more tax than most and so an increase of 3% to cover non citizens would be £50. With >

Reminder that Benie has a tax plan where the increased taxes would be offset by the savings to the average american in out of pocket expense

Scaling of the NHS, that number is actually less. I'm happy to pay that.

Essentially if you earn up to 100k/yr and pay over 5k/yr in insurance costs you will actually save money on his plan.

The NHS actually charges 150% of the cost so would make a profit. Emergency care is free though!

They'd pay tax if not in receipt of welfare. A lot of people in the UK don't earn enough to contribute as well but we manage.
